My name is Chris Steinbach, owner & operator of Salish Sea Expeditions. Over the past thirty years I fished the saltwater around the B.C coast both commercially and sportsfishing for salmon and halibut. I started working in remote fishing resorts when on summer breaks from high school, and have enjoyed guiding my guest into some of the best fishing B.C. has had to offer. Now I call the Comox Valley home. The calm waters and great salmon fishing here make it a great place live, work and play! I have equipped myself with the best boat and gear available for my guests. I also provide halibut salmon and tuna trips to Tahsis/Nootka sound for the people looking for a “westcoast” fishing adventure. I am here to help you plan the best fishing trip possible! I look forward to hosting your next fishing adventure and sharing my knowledge and experience with you!
The Boat
Salish Sea Expeditions operates one of the best all weather boats you will find on the West Coast. She is a comfortable and safe 26 ft Osprey with an overall length of 31 ft, built in the Northwest to handle the sometimes unpredictable conditions of the Pacific Ocean.
The Osprey has a huge open deck to fish from. More than twice the size of other guide boats in the area. We run twin 200HP Evinrude Etec outboards, the most powerful and environmentally friendly outboard on the market
You will appreciate the fully enclosed Heated cabin with private flushing toilet.
The boat has been inspected and fully certified as a passenger vessel by Transport Canada. It is equipped with top of the line Raymarine and Garmin electronics, Gps, Chart plotters & Radar, safety gear and all the best tackle available.
