Campbell River/Comox Valley

We base ourselves mid way between Comox and Campbell River. This gives us the advantage of being closer to the best fishing grounds in the Strait of Georgia! (Salish Sea).

The Campbell River/Comox Valley area has year round fishing opportunities.

Winter months

December, January, February, March

These are prime months for catching “winter springs” (chinook salmon). Fish from 8 to 15 lbs are common. Top off your winter fishing trip with prawns and crab.

Spring

April, May

The chinook start to get bigger in spring, the prawn fishing is great and the weather can be spectacular. Spring time is also a great time for a mainland inlet trip (such as Desolation Sound or Toba inlet)Try dropping the prawn traps and while you wait do a little sight seeing, bear watching, maybe see some whales or dolphins among the towering mountains and gorgeous waterfalls. Or a little trolling around for salmon.

Summer

June, July, August, September

As summer comes, so do the fish in great numbers. This is the time of year the tyee class (over 30lbs) chinook come in and coho and pinks show up for some light tackle fun. Summer brings calm water and warm weather.

Fall

October, November

The fall time is chum salmon time! These fish range from 10-25 lbs and can fight hard. Its not uncommon to have nonstop action when fishing chum!
